Floral Plant Presses

These floral plant presses are both functional as well as beautiful. Comprised of hardwood, ceramic, dried moss, cardboard, plant press paper, and twine, these plant presses are easy to use, eco friendly, and a delight to look at! There are 5 presses currently available - Large Peonies*, Large Hellebore, Medium Peonies, Small Peony (White), and Small Peony (Pink).

Approximate dimensions:

Large: 5x9 inches

Medium: 4.25x6.5 inches

Small: 2.5x6.5

The plant press works by placing freshly plucked leaves or flowers (or ferns) in between the blotting paper, putting that between the cardboard, placing that bundle between the wood, and then tying the twine tight around the top and bottom. Then, you need only wait (for the fern pictured, I waited 3 or 4 days) until your pressed plants are dry and ready to be removed! Eventually the blotting paper and cardboard will need to be replaced (for optimum results), but there are many options for both and its easy to just cut cardboard lying around.

The botanical ceramics in this collection, Fairly Floral, are an experiment in style, as well as an exploration of freehand painting and carving techniques. They boast a warm palette of colors, and their blooming florals and leafy foliage have simply been a delight to create and to share.

*The Large Peony Press has two chips in the wood on the interior sides of the press. It does not impact look and is only visible when the press is open, and has been slightly discounted accordingly.
