Carved Relief Ceramic Dandelion Pot

$65.00
sold out

This finely decorated pot calls into question the notion of labeling a dandelion a weed! Carved in relief, this dandelion vase is nice looking in its own right, and would be a fine container for a leafy plant as well!

This vase thrown on the wheel using white, mid-fire stoneware clay. The pot was carved away to create the dandelions, and then hand-painted with colored slips, all before their first firing. It was glazed in a clear, transparent glaze and fired once more.

It is food, dishwasher, and microwave safe!

The botanical ceramics in this collection, Fairly Floral, are an experiment in style, as well as an exploration of freehand painting and carving techniques. They boast a warm palette of colors, and their blooming florals and leafy foliage have simply been a delight to create and to share.
